Event was proposed and presented at the Brigade Meeting in January 2002 by Capt. Daniel O'Connell King's 8th Regiment. Key presentation point was the need for a Garrison Weekend where the Brigade would better effect a Brigade Level Basic and Advanced Training Event as well as other programs.

Eric Bloomquist, Dir of Interpretative Programs at OFN was present and
amenities of this event include: Breakfast and Hot Lunches Saturday and
Sunday, Hot Showers, Modern Restrooms, Swimming Pool, Firewood, Saturday
Dance and Tavern. In addition to encampment space for the entire
Brigade, the authentic buildings at the fort will barrack 150 to 200
reenactors.

The motion "to vote and approve an Official British Brigade Garrison
Weekend to take place at Old Fort Niagara June 7/8, 2003" was seconded
